A storm was brewing on the horizon as Sean was filling a countryside dugout with a backhoe and a semi-truck. Suddenly, a miscue wedged him between the two machines.

Sean was left with severe injuries that needed specialized trauma care in the city. Unfortunately, it would take over four hours by ground for him to get the care he desperately needed.

Thanks to the generosity of allies like you, STARS was able to bring Sean to the care he needed, safely and swiftly.

This mission had its fair share of challenges. Because of the storm, STARS' pilots had to push through a headwind to reach him.

Meanwhile, his air medical crew members fought to keep him alive during transport.

A few weeks later, Sean was able to leave the hospital and return home to his family.
